Last Week of 2022 at The Montessori Field School

And just like that our first semester at The Montessori Field School has come to a close! The Winter Solstice celebration was such a special way to close out 2022 with you. If you missed it, we'll have a small gift and your child's artwork waiting for you when we return in February. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend for bringing so much cheer to the gathering!

To recap the announcement of our 2023-2024 programs:

  • We are adding a schoolhouse at Base Camp, allowing us to offer full-day programs and a calendar similar to the schools in our area.

  • We are hiring two additional full-time teachers (delightful, experienced humans who we're entrusting our own children to as well!) and a part-time naturalist/enrichment instructor.

  • We are offering need-based tuition assistance through scholarships and encourage you to apply if the tuition payments are out of reach.

  • For 3-6-year-olds we will have full day (Monday-Friday 8:15-3:15) and half day (Monday-Thursday 8:15-11:15) options

  • For 6-9-year-olds we will have full day school (Monday-Friday 8:30-3:30). You can view a sample week in this program on our website.

  • For 6-12-year-old homeschoolers we will continue our Forest Club on Wednesdays from 12:30-3:00.

There are a very limited number of spots in our programs next year. In order to achieve exceptional quality we feel a very low child:adult ratio is important! Therefore we have just twelve full day spots for ages 3-6, six half day spots for ages 3-6, twelve full day spots for ages 6-9 (1st-3rd grade), and twelve elementary homeschooler spots. We do expect to fill and have a waitlist.

To express our gratitude for entrusting your children with us during our launch year, our currently enrolled families will receive preference for next school year as long as you put in your application by January 30th. After that date we will fill all available spots.

We have a whole bunch of yard signs that we intended to make available to you at the solstice gathering, but of course I forgot about them until it was too late! If you have a great place for a yard sign to help get the word out about our offerings, please let us know and we'll get one (or a few) to you.

Happy solstice, merry Christmas, happy holidays, and have a joyous New Year!

Heather & Kris
